Perspiration/Alleviation of fever

In Japan, a decoction of kudzu has been widely taken as a cold medicine due to kudzu's effectiveness in promoting perspiration and the alleviating fever, particularly in the early stages of a cold. Children are naturally Yang in nature; therefore, the neutral nature of the starch in kudzu is well suited. Kudzu also activates the digestive process and conditions the intestinal functions; it is effective with constipation and diarrhea.

Moderation of stiffness in the muscles

Kudzu loosens the muscle nerves and enhances blood circulation, alleviating muscle stiffness. Since kudzu also contains isoflavonoid, it is effective with cerebral blood vessels problems such as headache, ringing in the ears, eyestrain, irritation, sleeplessness, etc. Kudzu is best suited for stabilizing autonomic nerves.

Relieving the symptoms of high blood pressure

Kudzu is believed to be effective with high blood pressure and its symptoms. Isoflavonoid in kudzu loosens the tension of blood vessels, which consequently lowers blood pressure. It is also effective in preventing heart attack that is strongly related to high blood pressure. The loop artery narrowing which makes blood circulation difficult causes heart attack; however, kudzu loosens the loop artery and activates blood circulation. Kudzu is also effective for children during convulsions and spasms and stiffness in the elderly, since kudzu also relieves the tension of the parasympathetic nerves, activates the digestive organs, and enhances the blood circulation. Kudzu is also useful as a natural medicine to relieve mental stress and irritation and for a calming effect as well.
